The Digital Darkroom Hints
The ever improving evolution in the area of digital photography is now making it possible for your special photographs to be captured in greater detail and better accuracy than ever before. Improved shutter speeds and photographic resolution insure that amateur and seasoned professionals now have the ability to take truly outstanding photographs. In addition, advanced editing capabilities available through digital imaging technology – or the digital darkroom – give the dedicated photographer the ability to create a true masterpiece.
We all known that there is just a small window or of opportunity to get that truly great photograph – be it a sporting event or a still life photograph in a studio. Your hands and fingers must work simultaneously and with accurate timing, and in conjunction with your intuitive sense of when to take the photographs. For photography is truly an art form!
Usually our photographs have just some of the key elements required for that ideal shot. But more often than not, it’s limited in some areas. For example, the subject may be well-framed but then the lighting is not 100%. Or the lighting is good, but the subject is looking in the wrong direction! This is exactly where modern digital photography comes in its own, giving you the tools via your ‘digital darkroom’ to create that perfect photograph. Because… in just seconds, all pictures can be edited to reach their full potential when created with a digital camera. Red-eye reduction, automatic color enhancement, crop and zoom features are some of the many fantastic features that digital photography has to offer. Taking outstanding pictures is now easier than ever.
The truth is that digital photography is possible without a digital camera. You can use a regular camera such as a standard single lens reflex camera, process the film, and then scan the film and store the digital images on a CD. You can now use exactly the same software to edit your images.
All the equipment you need for digital photography is available online (stores or ebay) or from your local retail shop. Besides the camera and accessories you also need the software to create a digital darkroom. Adobe Elements and the free Picasso program from Google is what you are after. Good luck!
